Often brightened by a short drier spell called the veranillo, with regular afternoon rain around it.

Southern humpback whales begin to arrive from late in the month. Green season is a good time for frogs, insects and young animals.

Mid-July is a busy family travel period because of school holidays. Book ahead for those weeks, and note that 25 July is a national holiday.
